MRC keeps thanking me at the end of our tearful conversation. She’s really thanking you, donors! She said she has never asked for help before and has consistently been the person giving help. Receiving is new to MRC but we both agreed that some small contributions can make a big difference.
MRC has leukemia and while her counts are stable, anxiety and depression have been a challenge. She is a patient at Providence Regional Cancer Clinic in Lacey.
MRC is trying to make ends meet for herself and her 17-year-old daughter. MRC and her daughter currently live with a friend in Lacey to help save costs. Every precious thing she owns is in a storage unit. She said she often runs out of money in week three of the month and has turned to payday loans a few times to get by. Housing should improve in March.
If you would like to help families like MRC, please consider making a donation. We’ll be helping with her utilities, gas and groceries to keep her family afloat. Every $1 donated to The Mayday Foundation goes directly to families in your Thurston County neighborhood.
The Mayday Foundation is a 501(c)(3) approved non-profit organization that supports families with a parent diagnosed with cancer while caring for children at home. The Mayday Foundation can provide immediate, practical help with expenses like rent, utilities, groceries, transportation costs, and other household expenses.
